City Mile Dash Terms & Conditions of Participation
The Event
By accepting the invitation to participate in City Mile Dash I accept these terms and conditions under which City Mile Dash in conducted. City Mile Dash is a public event held on premises or property made available for community events. As such, the agreement to participate means that I also agree to be bound by the rules and regulations that may apply to the premises or property where the City Mile Dash is to be held. I also agree to follow the directions of anyone authorised to give directions whilst persons are on the said premises or property. For the purposes of these terms and conditions the City Mile Dash event includes, not only the direct City Mile Dash activities, but all other activities that may be undertaken for the duration of the City Mile Dash.

Physical Risk Notice
City Mile Dash and Bootcamp challenge is an event that involves physical exertion and as such has certain inherent risks associated with the activity, and due to its conduct in the urban and natural environments. Included in these risks are injury due to terrain, uneven surfaces and obstacles and the effects of heat, cold and exhaustion. Injuries may include injuries from falls such as broken bones and hips, sprained ankles, blisters, cuts and abrasions. Injuries may also arise from exertion such as heart attacks, dehydration and loss of consciousness. Participants are also advised that there is no personal accident insurance on their participation in City Mile Dash and that they take part entirely at their own risk.
Waiver
By accepting these terms and conditions I acknowledge that I have read, am familiar with and agree to the following waiver when registering.
In consideration of an application for entry into City Mile Dash being accepted, I understand and intend to be legally bound for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators. I hereby release the organisers and sponsors (individually and collectively), including the directors, officers, staff, volunteers and representatives thereof, and indemnify them against any liability (including liability for negligence) for the death or any physical or mental illness, incapacity or property damage or loss I may suffer which may directly or indirectly result from my participation in City Mile Dash.
I further verify that I am in proper physical and mental condition to participate in City Mile Dash and acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and voluntarily agree to assume those risks. I acknowledge that City Mile Dash is not a sport and is not a competition and agree to approach City Mile Dash on that basis. I agree to accept responsibility to act and participate within my physical limitations.
I verify that the information supplied in connection with my participation in City Mile Dash is true; and that I will not use a false name or impersonate another, nor use profanity, obscenities or offensive or defamatory remarks, and agree that Cancer Council NSW accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracies in the information provided. I understand that some of the details I provide here will be displayed on this site for the public to view. I also agree that Cancer Council NSW accepts no responsibility for damage caused by automated emails resulting from my online entry.
Indemnity
I further agree that in consideration of me being allowed to participate in City Mile Dash that I will indemnify, and at all times hereafter keep indemnified, Cancer Council NSW, its directors, officers, staff, volunteers and representatives from any liability to any third party or other participant in City Mile Dash arising from or connected with any breach of any of these terms and conditions by me.
Minors
If a participant is under the age of 18, the participant is required to have a Parent or Guardian read and accept the waiver on their behalf. Minors are to be supervised at all times whilst at City Mile Dash. In accepting these terms and conditions on behalf of the minor, I acknowledge that Cancer Council NSW and the staff and volunteers are not able to provide supervision of minors whilst at City Mile Dash.
Behaviour
I agree in participating in City Mile Dash that I will show respect for other participants in the event. I understand that my conduct will at all times be considerate of others. I agree to abide by the venue rules concerning activities, course language, privacy, and noise. I acknowledge and agree that City Mile Dash is a non smoking event.
I also agree that I will abide by the decision of the local organisers of City Mile Dash as to whether alcohol is permitted to be consumed at the venue. I also agree that if alcohol is permitted, that I will not cause, permit or allow any such alcohol to be supplied to any minor. I acknowledge that City Mile Dash is an animal free event, except for animals that are companion for people with visual impairments.
I acknowledge that City Mile Dash is an event that may involve minors. I am not a person recorded on the Australian National Child Offender Register.
Photographic Consent
I acknowledge that in the course of City Mile Dash, photographs, images or film may be taken of me, either alone or in group shots with others. I agree to the use of my image in these photographs, images or film and for their use on the websites or in Cancer Council NSW publications in the future. I also agree that the photographs or film may be used by third party media organisations in connection with the reporting of City Mile Dash.
Awards
City Mile Dash is a foot race and speed contest involving a number of categories. Awards will be made to the winner(s) of each category and some place-getters. Winners will be determined based on who finishes the event in the quickest time, in accordance with the rules for the race. Times will be determined using a combination of electronic timing and judgements made by officials appointed by Cancer Council NSW. These decisions and judgements will be final. They cannot be challenged or appealed.
Privacy
We collect two types of information through this website;
1. Personal or individually identifiable information that you provide to us; and
2. Standard web server/visitor traffic information such as ISP addresses, browser versions, referring websites, duration of visits, total visitor traffic. This information helps us to understand how people use our website and assists us in managing our site to better serve our audience.
Individually identifiable information and how we use it:
- Cancer Council NSW collects individually identifiable information from City Mile Dash participants and other attendees such as First Name and Surname, Email Address, Suburb/Town, State, Postcode, Telephone are collected, as well as individuals’ lifestyle information.
- This information is used to provide contact with City Mile Dash visitors by way of email reminders, telephone call-backs and sometimes SMS lifestyle prompts. The information provided on this website will not be given to any other parties except for the purpose of providing automated Life Smart SMS prompts.
Our commitment to the security of confidentiality is resolute and we aim to apply best practice to ensure privacy is protected and respected. Privacy management is a continuous and evolving process and we regularly update our practices to accommodate changes in technology, the organisation’s function and legislation.

Additional Terms and Conditions – Applying to ALL Participants and Original Bootcamp Challenge Participants
Age
Course participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of their course commencement date. Any persons under the age of 17 must have written consent of attendance from a parent or guardian.
Safety rules & regulations
You must comply with the safety regulations and instructions of Original Bootcamp and the Cancer Council NSW at all times;
If at any time your course instructor considers that you are jeopardizing the safety of others and/or disrupting the race, then you may be asked to leave and you will not be entitled to either a refund or credit.
Responsibilities
Neither Original Bootcamp or the Cancer Council NSW will not be held responsible for;
- any injury or illness you suffer as a result of any on-going medical condition or a poor standard of health or fitness.
- any aggravation of pre-existing or previous injuries sustained by the you.
- any medical condition, injury or illness which you sustain during any course/activity run by Original Bootcamp.
- any damage to or loss of your personal property during any course/activity or session run by Original Bootcamp.
Indemnity.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Cancer Council NSW and Original Bootcamp and all its employees from;
- any, and all direct or indirect losses for which Cancer Council NSW and Original Bootcamp or its employees may become liable as a result of any claims or actions which you make or which is made on your behalf due to any direct or indirect losses that you may suffer as a result of attending a course run by Original Bootcamp.
